So forgive me if this is just a vicious rumor, but I was delivering 16oz cans of our beer to a popular craft beer store in our area yesterday, and the owner had a long winded story about how the Lagunitas beer rep had told him (forgive me but I forget the exact details) that Ball was somehow involved and that all 16 oz beer cans would become unavailable to everyone within a few months. This sounds terribly foolish, but he's a pretty knowledgable guy and seemed to back it up with the fact that a lot of the larger breweries are going with 12oz cans for this reason lately. Anyway, we are considering purchasing our own canning line, so I thought I'd post on here to see if it was just nonsense or if the story has any legs at all.
Secondly, and something else that gives me pause, is that buying cans seems near impossible. I've asked everyone I can think to ask, including reps at ABE who sell canning lines where to buy cans, and no one...and I mean no one seems to have any idea. Clearly we are asking the wrong people, but you'd think someone out there could point you in the right direction.
