Head Brewer – Jack Russell Farm Brewery
Nestled in the foothills of the gold country of the Sierra Nevada mountains, lies Jack Russell Farm Brewery (established in 1997). This farm brewery is located in Camino, CA, on 11 acres off of Highway 50, between South Lake Tahoe and Sacramento. Our farm grows hops, blueberries, blackberries and apples, all used for product production including hard ciders and meads. Jack Russell Farm Brewery has a 15 BBL infusion mash system with 4- 30 BBL, 2- 20 BBL and 2- 15 BBL fermenters and a cold box full of cellar tanks.
We are looking to hire a full-time head brewer for immediate start! We are looking for someone who has a positive attitude, great work ethic and strong communication skills. Must be detail oriented, clean and organized. Must be self-motivated, able to work independently and within a small team.
Responsibilities of the head brewer include but are not limited to:
-Schedule and oversee all aspects of production
-Carry out day-to-day operations in a routine and timely manner
-Wort production
-CIP and sanitation of all vessels and systems of brewery
-Yeast handling
-Capable of lifting 55 lbs up to chest level and above repeatedly
-Ability to maintain quality and consistency of beer
-Quality assurance/quality control from grain to glass
-Willingness to stay until the job is finished
-Strong mechanical background
-Respect owners wishes/rules
-Inventory management
-Packaging of beer in kegs and bottles
-Help establish and maintain laboratory environment
-Proficiency in draft systems
Compensation will depend on experience.
