  • Public Events for Homebrewers?

    Hey all,
    I have a question.
There are a couple of restaurants near me that want me to produce some local beer for their Octoberfest events. I don't have a brewery, but, am just starting my TTB paperwork for a micro brewery. Can I bring my beer to these licensed establishments to give tastings away for free? Right now I am a home brewer, so, I am not charging anyone anything for the product. It's just to have some fun & get some feedback on our creations.
    Thank you so very much.

Check with you state's Alcoholic Beverage Control Department. It's hard for people on the internet to give you advice on a subject like this because the laws vary widely from state to state, in some cases county to county. Here in California homebrewers have a couple options to promote themselves and even begin to build a brand before they even have submitted anything to TTB or ABC. The nice people at your local ABC branch would be happy to help you, give them a ring. http://www.nj.gov/oag/abc/email.htm
