    Shadow Puppet Brewing Company is a hot new brewery located in Livermore (Northern California). Launching with our Grand Opening back in February 2017, Shadow Puppet has been building our local fan base and is now focused on growing the local self-distribution phase of the business plan. We pride ourselves in setting the bar for innovation, pushing the envelope with new styles and flavors, and creating new techniques for brewing highly sought after beer.

    We are in need of an experienced salesperson to help us fuel our growth in the Bay Area market. This person needs to be extremely social & outgoing. We are looking for someone well versed, interested in, and excited by craft beer and the craft beer movement.

    This opportunity is currently a part-time role, where you generally work ~20-30 hours a week. As your territory grows and matures, this role will definitely transition to a full time opportunity.

    JOB DUTIES:
    • Ensure that we are achieving our local sales targets
    • Establishing and maintaining relationships with existing clients and potential accounts by consistently, persistently, and respectfully delivering value (all within the organization’s resource and budget constraints):
    • Sales calls, including cold calling. Arranging and conducting tastings with potential clients
    • Emailing suggestions, relevant articles, relevant news to potential and existing accounts
    • Trade shows (eventually)
    • Speaking engagements (eventually)
    • Keep track of your relationships and interactions each day using CRM system
    • Understand the Shadow Puppet Brewing Company philosophy and approach to craft beer
    • Internalize and convey the Shadow Puppet Brewing Company brand and values in your daily work
    • Utilize technology to strengthen your attention to detail
    • Pick-up empty kegs from existing customers when needed
    • Deliver kegs when needed on occassion
    • Learn new sales and business development skills with each passing week



    QUALITIES OF THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
    • TIME MANAGEMENT!! You must have excellent time management skills in order to be successful in this role. You need to be able to efficiently develop and execute your plan of attack for each week, consisting of a mix of acquiring new accounts and growing existing accounts.
    • Loves and understands craft beer
    • Lives in or around the Bay Area
    • At least 3-5 years of experience selling and managing relationships and accounts, with a proven track record and references
    • Outgoing, optimistic, enthusiastic, and trusting of others
    • Persuasive and good with words
    • Confident, poised, and comfortable with selling and closing
    • Comfortable with cold calls
    • Persistent and dogged in pursuing relationships, even if it takes weeks or months of constant effort to establish them, all while not being “annoying”
    • Embraces technology (such as a CRM, spell checker, etc...) to help strengthen attention to detail if that’s not your strong suit
    • Is comfortable being mostly self-directed and self-starting to achieve business objectives



    CHALLENGES OF THE JOB:
    • You’ll need to connect and coordinate with lots of different people. You’ll need a way to do this effectively.
    • You need to be good at managing your own time to achieve your sales goals.
    • We are a small and very tight-knit company that expects timely communication within and among departments, if this is not your style that could be a challenge.
    • You will need to be happy and comfortable working in a team-structured company.
    • With new beer centric places opening weekly, and current prospective accounts changing their line up often, you will need to keep up with the market’s growth efficiently.
    • You will need to be able to make an emergency delivery to a key account on Friday night at 9pm, if needed.
    • Keeping our customers happy is very important to us. We have nurtured a level of expectation for our customers that we have a commitment to holding. As a team we sometimes all have to pitch in to keep us on top of customer satisfaction.
