Talking of Brides - did you know St Bride (aka Bridgid/Bridget) is the Irish patron saint of brewers?

She's the one said to have turned her bath water into wondrous frothy beer!

Now, I know she probably wasn't the marrying type, but she does sound my kind of gal!

            cheers

                Shivaree!

From Wikipedia: "A shivaree, or charivari, is an American term for a clamorous salutation made to a newlywed couple by an assembled crowd of neighbours and friends."

                Cheers, Tim

As a home brewer I brewed and served six draught beers, one cask conditioned and a bottled highly carbonated toast beer.

I only named two of them. The cask conditioned one was "Ball & Chain IPA"

The toast beer was "Golden Cherry Bridal Ale" a strong Belgian style golden ale with cherries.

No left over beer, everything was dry by the evening, even had to send out the bar maid for cases of micro. :-)

                  Cheers, Mark.

                      We've Got a Winner!

Congratulations to JWalts for coming up with the winning entry for my wedding beer "Just Hutched". The selection process was a long and arduous competition. Basically my fiancee and her friends picked the winner

JWalts, send me your mailing address and I send out your hallowed prize (pint glasses from my place) as soon as I can. Thanks to everyone for their help. It was much appreciated.

For those of you who are curios the beer in question will be a Pale Ale brewed using lots of American hops as well as Lavender, Orange Blossoms, and Elder Flowers. Anyone who can recommend good usage amounts for those flowers it would be really helpful. I've started another thread in the "Ingredients" forum asking for help in that area.

                      Thanks again!

Well, belated congratulations anyway, Hutch; I liked the "Just Hutched" suggestion also, so that has saved me contributing my own bloody awful puns.
