Best source for used Bourbon Barrels

As the title states, I am in search for used bourbon barrels. Any insight in obtaining freshly dumped barrels, and how to properly maintain them would be most helpful. Thanks.

Depends on what you mean by freshly dumped. If you mean in the last hour before pickup, your choices are pretty small at the moment. Lots of barrels are being shipped over seas for top dollar. If you can deal with a couple days to a week (which is what we get and have zero problems with). Try Kelvin Cooperage in Louisville and or try some bigger distilleries. Beam and Old Forester both were selling for $80 a barrel but had presold all they had for the rest of the year already. Kelvin(502) 366-5757

A week would be more than fine. I just didn't want to get barrels that have been sitting for months. Thanks for the insight.
