Small batch of Coors Light recalled for ‘subpar’ taste
MillerCoors has recalled a batch of Coors Light in the Southeastern United States after taste tests at the company's Georgia brewery found the beer to be subpar.
MillerCoors, which will begin moving into its new Chicago headquarters this month, last week began pulling the beer from its distribution system and from retailers. Qouted in a Chicago Tribune report, MillerCoors spokesman Pete Marino said, "We sampled it and realized it wasn't up to standards.”
He didn't immediately know how much beer was recalled, or if the recall had been completed. But the batch involved only Coors Light brewed at the firm's Albany, Ga., brewery.

C'mon.... be nice.
Its a human trait to chuckle at someone else's misfortune. Whether its someone slipping on a banana peel or a beer company experiencing a recall, we're just glad its not us.
Smart commercial brewers should view this recall with the self admonition: "There but for the grace of God go I." This is a freebie opportunity to correct those practices , procedures and quality issues that you know need improvement before you, too, get bitten in the ass. A moron can learn from his own mistakes; smart people learn from the mistakes of others.
It is human to chuckle at others misfortune, but for "small" or "craft" brewers there seems to emerge more empathy in the threads of messages, while the full-on disdain is reserved strictly for the "large", or "not-craft" brewers.
I was actually thrilled to see someone besides myself chiming in with a "be nice"!
Larry is right, commercially and in life, you don't get punished for your mistakes, you get punished by your mistakes. Learning from others avoids personal suffering.
I'm involved in the industry via one of global the "behemoths", but I'm also a home brewer and I have a deep affinity for all who would brew and thier challenges. But to find an "other" to hate, just so one doesn't have to focus on the improvement of "self" is immature and childish. Your "whine" is showing.
Keep on keepin' on to all you brewers out there. It's an ancient and noble game and avocation, respect it, and it respects you.
Peace.

Hey,
They are doing exactly what they should be doing. If you can't stop a bad batch from going to your customer, then recall it and mimimize the damage. I have worked for many small brewers who's owners sent out bad beer because it brought in revenue. Hats off to these guys for doing it right.

Of course you are correct. Any quality operation would do the same thing. What we have been doing here is called Schadenfreude.Originally Posted by Graydon

Anybody reading this think recall a batch they should have dumped? I can.
No doubt. I've sure had a lot more bad "craft" brew than "off" macro.Originally Posted by Moonlight
