  • charging chiller

so we finally have our chiller and tanks all piped up (or nearly so). However, we don't have a air purge valve and are wondering if there is a workaround for purging air from the system and to what extent the absence of air is required. The system is used and did not previously have a valve. We are thinking the outlet on the tanks is below the top and there will be airspace in the jackets. The way it's set up the top of the chiller reservoir is just below the high point on the coolant line (tank). Similarly, is there a back-of-the-envelope calculation for how much volume will be in each jacket and how does this relate to the initial fill? Any advice is much appreciated. we're eager to get this going but don't want to f it up obviously.
