  • carbonation tester (not Zahm)

I know and have used the Zahm Nagel carb tester at my previous employers brewery. I am now opening up a small brew pub operation and am curious to know if anyone has used any of the alternative (less expensive) carb testing tools. I saw this one on Foxx Equipment for $276. Anyone have any experience or advice?

That looks very similar, if not identical, to the one we have. It's easy to use but not terribly precise. If you only need to know carb levels within, say, ±0.1 vol, it'll get the job done.

Beer is like porn. You can buy it, but it's more fun to make your own.
