  • Polishing tank interiors

    Question for you all,

I've been thinking about doing some polishing on the insides of our brewing vessels. They're inherited and are pretty covered with tiny scratches on the inside and I think polishing them out with the right buffing wheel/compound will make them easier to clean and maintain without getting inside and scrubbing. Any thoughts?

A mirror-finish isn't really necessary so I'd suggest just making sure there aren't any really deep scratches present as these can become corrosion and/or infection hot-spots.

Remember also that if you do any amount of grinding then it is advisable to passivate afterwards, to eliminate chromium-depleted areas that can also become corrosion sites.
