Obviously a better boil will increase utilization. I would send samples of each brand out for analysis and get a starting point before the upgrade. Then you'll have a baseline to match.
We are upgrading from a direct burner to an internal calandria and are wondering what effect it will have on our hop utilization rates.
What type of utilization rates are others seeing with their internal calandrias?
Thanks!

We are getting around 35% utilization. (60 minute boil)
Other factors to consider are higher gravity brews will affect utilization. (lower it) Stream pressure. (high demand days are pressure at the kettle can drop up to 0.3 bar)
We test ours on a regular basis and are fairly consistant.
