Wyeast Laboratories Lab Tech
QC Technician position is responsible for daily quality control monitoring and testing, daily yeast propagations, daily yeast preparation for retail packaging, daily yeast packaging for commercial accounts, and general lab maintenance.
This is a 40 hour per week position with rotating weekend duties. Understanding of good laboratory techniques and quality control microbiology desired. This position requires an understanding/ learning of basic as well as advanced testing procedures and techniques for chemical, physical, and biological analysis. Employee must be able to follow strict SOP for all defined processes.
Person must be detail oriented, self-directed, and must possess good time management skills. Good written and oral communication skills are required. Employee must have the ability to effectively communicate with all members of the staff and management. Computer literacy is necessary, including Microsoft word and Excel.
Duties May Include:
Packaging yeast for commercial accounts - Preparing yeast for retail packaging - Daily propagation maintenance – Performing, Recording, Interpreting Daily QC testing – Preparing commercial packaging – Harvesting culture – Media preparation – Performing general lab maintenance
