  • Organic "Caustic"

Interested to hear if anyone uses the Wine tank cleaner from Wise Solutions or any other organic type cleaner for the their tanks. http://wisesolutions.net/index.php/f...lution-70.html

Never tried it but looks interesting. At 200:1 dilution and 60-70oF use, it seems too good to be true.

Let me/us know how it works out.

I might have a little concern about rinsability/residue in product. And how active that residue might be. Especially in beer (essentially a colloidal suspension of sugars, proteins, acids, hop oils and alcohols) vs wine (more like an alcohol, acid and water solution). I would think about active residues effects on head retention and hop flavour.

I wonder if they provide a test kit or procedure for measuring residue/concentration.

Just thinking aloud here....I have no idea if these concerns have any foundation whatsoever.

Definitely intrigued by the product data sheet.

        Pax.

They are valid points. I'll see what they come back with.

Renzo, have you had a chance to test this cleaner? Sounds great.

most commercially available brewing caustic is Sodium Hydroxide, which is organic anyway. Dont buy into the hype. Lye is natural and you can make it at home with rain water and wood ash.

'Organic' or not, I'm more interested in the energy and effluent savings.

                Any word?
