Have a passion for creating quality craft beer? Barley and Hops in Frederick, MD is accepting applications for an Assistant Brewer. We are a well established brewpub that has been in operation since 1999. We operate a 17 HL brewhouse with 5 fermentors and 5 serving vessels. The brewhouse operations are currently manned by our Head Brewer, however with increasing volume we will require a qualified helper.

This is an entry level position. The assistant brewer will gain valuable experience training under an experienced brewer. However, applicants should have either a formal brewing education, an education in applicable sciences, or a well experienced background in homebrewing with knowledge of recipe formulation and creative ideas. Applicants with food and beverage experience is also a plus. The position requires a flexible schedule that may require occasional weekend work and very early morning or evening hours. Applicants must be able to lift 50 pounds, move a lot of kegs, work in a variety of circumstances, and work alone unsupervised. Local candidates in the Baltimore-DC metro area are preferred.
