New Hampshire lawmakers last week approved a bill to allow farmers markets to sell beer.

The bill was introduced by state Rep. Donna Schlachman, D-Exeter, and will now go to the Senate for ratification. The bill had strong bi-partisan support, and lawmakers hailed it as a common-sense measure.

The bill originally applied only to nanobreweries but was ultimately revised to include all beer makers.
