Many brewers have been asking the type of tool needed to fill our party kegs…you will find the information here…

Preparation:

1. Connect an SK hose DN 10 from pressure tank to tap (01), beer pressure 1,1 – 1,5 bar, recommended beer temperature max. 4°C.

2. Connect hose from CO2 pressure regulator to tap(07). Prestress pressure 1.0 – 1.4 bar.

Description of function:

1. To vent the beer hose, open tap (01) until beer comes out of the filling pipe, then close the tap again.

2. Remove the dust cap from an empty barrel.

3. Feed the filling pipe of the filling unit into the barrel and clamp tight using the plastic strap (06). The bung rubber washer (05) seals the bunghole of the barrel.

4. Rinse barrel with CO2. Open exit air valve (04). Open tap (03) and tap (07). Rinsing time approx. 5 secs.

5. Prestressing the barrel. Close tap (03). Tap (07) und exit air valve (04) stay open (the prestress pressure can now build up in the barrel). Prestress time approx. 5 secs.

6. Filling the barrel. Close tap. (07), Open tap (01) and. tap (03), the exit air valve (04) also stays open.The return valve is used to control the filling speed. The return valve should be adjusted so that the filling time amounts to approx. 40 secs. The filling speed can be increased by opening the valve further.

Ensure that the valve is not opened too far as otherwise the return air escapes too quickly so that the pressure falls in the barrel, resulting in foaming.

Once the return valve has been adjusted to the right setting for the filling speed, it should always stay open in this setting.

As soon as beer comes out of the hose nozzle of the return valve, the barrel is full and tap (01) wird is closed. Releasing the plastic strap (06) the filling unit can be removed from the barrel and the barrel can be bunged.

Cleaning – Sterilizing:

The materials used in the filling have been selected so that all cleaning agents and desinfectants normally used in the beverages industry can be used.

To clean, the filling unit is also to be clamped on a barrel and the beer route and air routes are to be rinsed alternately with the cleaning agent.

If you ferment in these make sure you are venting, as they are not able to hold pressure very well at all! My brother had a sticky mess from using them for homebrew...

the kegs are made for 5 bars of pressure...at 6.5 bars they will start to whistle
