    Question Submitted TTB

We, Madhorsebrewpub, submitted for our TTB last week online. So now I guess its hurry up and wait. I have noticed on this forum that processing times appear to be all over the place. So I know better than to predict processing times. That said,,, My Owner info was accepted within two days, and my application has already been assigned to a representative within three days, and the bond was accepted in three days. Is this normal ? I'm guessing that happens quickly and now I just sit around and wait. How long does it take most people to get their app assigned to a rep ?

    Scott,

Were both items accepted, given a new tracking number, and subsequently assigned a specialist? I became very excited when my documents were immediatly accepted, and a name was assigned, but I've now been sitting with a new "accepted" tracking number BR -> BRE annotation for about 20 days. At this point when I check the status I just see Specialist Review - Pending

yep, sounds like we're both at the same spot.

What I don't find reassuring was that when I submitted my app it said 51 days, now it went up to 57 days. I expect it will take longer than both those estimates but its not encouraging that the wait time is going up.

    Paper Version

Did you notice that the paper submittal time line decreased also? I spoke with Shawn Burcham at the TTB last week, and I was told that based on their current workload I should see a status update within 30 days of acceptance.

a status update unfortunately doesn't mean a completed approval.

We got our TTB Notice in just 48 days. The same day the state finally decided to contact us for the first time about our application... That was almost two months ago. Still waiting... >:|

We got our Brewer's Notice exactly business 30 days from the day we submitted it. Things went very smoothly. Although we're still trying to figure out if the TTB will actually be "sending" us anything. Our signed Brewer's Notice, signed Bond and Approval Letter are available on the online system, and have been downloaded, but the agent seemed to imply that they would be sending us our "permit," her word, not ours.

She was very responsive during the process, but seems to have gone missing since the approval.

if they have issued you your brewers ID number such as BR-XX-XXX-11111 then you are good to go. Mine was done the old paper way, but an email packet was sent with all the pertinent info. They snail mailed one of my original copies of the brewers notice back with their writing showing the brewery number for my records. I don't know if they do that for the online system, but as long as you have a copy downloaded and have your number, you should be fine...

if you're waiting for something like a nice fancy letter to display on the wall, there is no such thing from the feds...

Yes, they issued us an ID number. Thanks! Looks like we wasted two weeks waiting for something to come in the mail. I guess we could've submitted our state paperwork two weeks ago.

    state

your state will probably want a copy of your approved brewers notice. if this is one of the documents the ttb put online, then that should be good to print and send to the state.

i will add the caveate that all states are different. i can only speak for ohio...

Yes, that is what we were "waiting" for. State application went in the mail today. Thanks for your help.

As to the OP, our agent was assigned within a week or so of them cashing our check, so it sounds about right.

    TTB New Look?

It may just be me being over anxious about my federal permit, but today I noticed that the "Specialist Review" section of my permits online application has changed from "pending 4/17/12" to now including "Due on 5/12/12 TBD". I know this most likely means that no one has even been assigned to my file, and I also see there are a few more categories now such as "trust account" information at the bottom, but does anyone else at the same step in this process see the same changes, or am I moving on in the process?

    Thanks,
