rotary labeler question
Just purchased a used Krones Robusta rotary label machine. Coming from a winery, so the pallet carousel/grippers will be for larger format bottles (750mL/1.5 L). We run a 12 oz and a 22 oz glass container. Where can I go for labeler parts that will fit my label size to run properly? I have zero experience with a rotary labeler, my assumption is that the sponge pallets and grippers have to be the same size as our labels correct?

You should start with getting information from Krones in Wisconsin, also try K2 engineering and Revolution labelers. It may be much more involved than changing stars and worm components. Depending on the machine, perhaps $15,000 to $50,000. Provide them the info on current layout (front, back, neck, etc) and what your labeling requirements are, then give them ID info on the machine you bought. There's a lot of variation in the labelers, so there isn't a quick answer.

We have had success with Phoenix Manufacturing from Keokuk Iowa for parts, machining etc.

You could try Peter Markl in Bavaria. I have found that he is 1/3 the price of Krones USA and quicker and more knowledgeable. But that's just my experience.

this link will give you his info and a link to e-mail him. e-mail works well.
I have a digital copy of our bottler schematic that has part #'s and technical drawings. I always attach what I am looking for when an e-mail is sent. With our labeler, I don't have the digital copy so I send pictures with notes and measurement on them (in English). I suggest at least comparing some parts pricing. Cheers, Ethan
