Thanks for the tip Brewtopian! See you Thursday.![]()
I've been looking for something that would make filling growlers not so wasteful. We tried hoses and we tried playing with the pressure on the kegs but nothing ever worked well since we never put the same beer on back to back and as you know every beer pours differently than the one before it.
About 2 months ago we switched all our faucets out to the new Perlick Control Flow Faucets and I honestly can't say enough good things about them. I can now fill a growler with almost zero waste and believe me, when you're going through 40 kegs a week that's a lot of savings. We got them for about $50 each but I just heard that Perlick has them on sale for I think $25 each.
If you're looking for a way to make your growler program more profitable then I highly recommend switching to these faucets.

Where do you see them on sale for this price?
Too bad they dont make a stainless version.
They do now! Just got a couple in our pub!
Nice! Stainless is the way to go especially when many Health Depts are already requiring it or will soon be. Plus the extra cost is more than made up for in peace of mine and longevity. Im thinking Micromatic offers something similar but Im not sure.
I can't seem to find the all stainless version. Help me out?Originally Posted by Woolsocks

Now Perlick says they don't have the stainless ones anymore. I'm going to find out what happened and post here.
Try rototaps, they're better anyway and you can get a flow control version--although I'b be weary of an adjustable faucet if I had someone else working in my taproom.
From Perlick today:
we had some stainless steel faucets made but they are all faulty. We are trying a different company and hope to have by the end of the year. We have our fingers crossed. When we have the stainless faucets ready we will have a big advertising campaign. For now we only have the chrome plated brass faucets.
would something like this work on a standard faucet? anyone have experience with them?

Set up our bar with twelve of these perlicks. They're pretty fantastic, I'm a fan. You can really slow the flow down for growlers. Only problem so far is that sometimes one of our servers is being a muppet and cranks the thing all the way up to pour faster. So your next pint is foamy if you're not careful. And you can easily underpour the head with these when you get near the end of the pint and realize crap, no foam, gotta crank it up! But it is too late. Still, big fan. Just wish we could get stainless.
