I would think that if you seal it, making it air tight; that would induce condensation within the container. Galv is sensitive to acidic environments and I believe the product coating is primarily Zinc. Your call....
I was at Lowes and picked up one of these.

Says its good for pet food/bird seed.
Does not mean its human grade safe. I like the idea of using these vs a food safe plastic becasue critters cannot nibble their way in. I figure if I line the lid with some rubber weather stripping it will stay sealed up tight enough.
I figure with current 1bbl production we will burn thru a full bin in less than a month anyways.
Anyone see problems with this? If so what do you nano brewers use to store grains that is critter proof?

I can't speak to the galvanizing on that particular can, but I can tell you that galvanized bins are being used to store malt all over the US at breweries of varying sizes. I wouldn't say that galvanized is the #1 option, but it works, and as long as you keep the inside clean and dry, you shouldn't have any problems.

Just got an email back from the mfg. they said their cans are not FDA approved so they cannot recommend using them for human food items.
I guess I will just get a food safe plastic liner to be sure.
Thanks for all the feedback!
