A successful brewpub that has been operational for more than a year in India is looking for a well-qualified and experienced brewer to head and manage its brewing operations. The current head brewer (an American National) finishes his contract shortly and the brewpub is looking for someone to take over.

Job Description
• Run the entire brewing operations
• Brew various types of quality craft beers up to 30 HL per week
• Manage and maintain the 10HL brewhouse and brewing equipment
• Co-ordinate and manage purchase and inventory of brewing ingredients
• Train and mentor an assistant brewer

Qualifications
• 5 or more years experience working in microbreweries as the head brewer
• Proven track record in brewing award winning brews
• Academic qualification in brewing is essential (Homebrewers and nanobrewers need not apply)

Essential Skills
• Passion for world class beer and should know the basics of chemistry and science behind brewing, how to perform basic lab tests, basic digital read-outs, proper production calculations and record-keeping and sanitation requirements
• Proven ability to work independently
• In-depth knowledge of brewing equipment
• Capacity to teach and train other staff in the brewing process

Personal Considerations
• Open-minded and willing to explore and experiment with various types of beer that will work in the local market
• Self directed and highly motivated individual
• Excellent English language communication skills
• Team player working closely with the top management
• Able to communicate the process of brewing to customers
• Able to talk through a tasting session for customers
• Committed to live and work in India for minimum one year
• Must possess a temperament suited to working in a country like India, which comes with its challenges and frustrations
