Not too many craft breweries are celebrating 30 plus years of being in business.

But Boulder Beer Company, Colorado's first microbrewery, is one those very few. They will celebrate its 32nd anniversary with a Beer Rave from 2-6 p.m. Saturday at the brewery.

"When we celebrate our own company's anniversary here at Boulder Beer, we're also celebrating the anniversary of the start of the craft-beer movement in Colorado," says Boulder Beer Brewmaster David Zuckerman. "We wanted our anniversary party to be not only a celebration of our own history and growth, but also of the entire craft-beer industry in Colorado. This was the very first craft beer I ever drank. I would visit my sister, who was attending CU and I will never forgive her for that (Go CSU!). This was in the late 80's. Their beer looked different and tasted WAY different, but good! It hooked me and opened a door to this world I have been neck-deep in since the early 90's!

Thanks for the nice words on our 32 years in craft brewing. The article that was linked to on yesterday's BA forum was actually from September of 2011. Although we will not be celebrating this Saturday, our anniversary Beer Rave will be on September 29. Official correction below.

CORRECTION: Please disregard yesterday’s posting in the headlines section of the Forum stating that Boulder Beer Company will be celebrating their 32nd Anniversary this Saturday and hosting the Beer Rave at the brewery. This is incorrect information. We will, however, be celebrating our 33rd Anniversary on Saturday, September 29th, hosting our annual Anniversary Beer Rave and benefit at the brewery that day, details to follow. We apologize for the confusion and hope to see you at the brewery on 9/29!

The Pub at Boulder Beer is open this Saturday.
