Those are both very good products. I use cs 17 from enerco which is located in Grand Ledge, MI. check their website for contact info. I have also used product from foxx equipment with good success also.
I gotta ask - what are other people using for draught line cleaning solution?
I've been using BLC from National or BLC from Micromatic and I've got to find a more cost effective solution.
According to the Draught Quality Manual we're looking at 2% - 3% caustic concentration which comes out to ~12 ounces per 5 gallons (which is the size of my cleaning can). All of the packaging I can find for BLC is either 32 oz. (National) or 68 oz. (Micromatic), which is either 3 cans per container (National) or 5 cans per container (Micromatic) at DQM guidelines. If I follow guidelines on the bottle I get either 3 cans per container (National) or 1.2 cans per container (Micromatic).
Either way, we're talking something like $1.00 per gallon on average. When I'm cleaning some bar's 80-foot-long disgusting lines and I'm not really able to reuse the solution more than a couple of times before the pH significantly changes, it gets crazy expensive, to say nothing of the ability to keep the stuff in stock.
What are other people using? And does it come in larger increments than 32 oz. per bottle? Or should I just use the same caustic I'm using to CIP tanks?
Cheers,
Erik

We buy Kettle Wash from Ace Chemical in Milwaukee. Super concentrated and much cheaper to use than the products you're using.
