What Brand Flow Meter Do You Use?

    Hello forum users.
We were wondering what brands of flow meter other people are using for mash water flow and volumes. The meter we are looking to replace seems to have come from a non brewing industry. It has worked fine for many years but we were curious about what brand or style others may use. We measure up to 180 degree water, 900-1000 gallons, 3 times a day. the meter is just before the mash hydrator in our 20 BBL mash tun. Thanks for your replies!

Burkert flow meters are reasonably priced and have great accuracy if the K-factor is set correctly. Try to get the I.D. of the meter to be the same as your process piping and it will be much more accurate. Many I work with have a larger I.D. in the meter and it creates turbulence that makes perfect readings impossible.

We use a Blancett on our lauter runoff. From what I remember, they were a little cheaper than the Great Plains ones.

    Proteus

I am familiar with Proteus flowmeters as being fairly priced and compact.
