We reuse our cheap wood pallets and have never have a contamination problem. As long as you are not putting the wood in your tanks and kegs you will be fine. No need to waste money when you don't have too.
So we've been reusing the pallets our grain comes in on around the brewery for storage, kegs, etc., because, you know, free.
But I'm getting concerned about their potential for contamination, since they're cheap, wood, and often wet and covered with spilled beer. So I've been thinking about ordering in some plastic pallets for in-house use. Something I could pressure wash, sanitize occasionally, etc..
Anyone using these or have a line on a good source? Also, any thoughts on the pallets designed specially for kegs?

Look closely at your grain invoice. I bet they aren't "free."
You can buy used plastic pallets cheap on the web. If you buy in full truckloads, they can be very reasonable, especially for nestable pallets. You can't stack those, though.
