    I really like using a "beer nut x TC" fitting. GW Kent has some that with and without a ball-valve. I like this because then you can hook up your carbonation tester directly to the TC and check carb levels.

      We've converted a few of our sanke couplers to have ball lock fittings. We fill growlers from our serving kegs with the blichmann beer gun so having the easily removable ball lock couplers is a huge bonus. About $35 for the kit for one coupler at kegworks.com

        We use a nipple and zwickle valve combo so that we can hook up a pigtail or bev line easily at any time. It isn't as cheap as just plugging it, but it sure is convenient.
