weight per bushel of wheat malt

    Hello,

We are looking to size and purchase a silo for wheat malt. The silos we are looking at are specified in cubic feet and bushels. Our malt supplier did not know off the top of his head how many pounds of wheat malt per cu ft or bushel. He said wheat malt weighs roughly 10 -13 percent more per volume than barley malt.

Anyone out there know how many pounds of wheat malt per cu ft or bushel?

    thanks,
    sam

    Yes

But considering that there is minimal loss of mass from the short germination and then it is kiln dried it has to be pretty close to malted wheat mass. I would venture a guess that the mass lost in barley during malting is from hull loss.
But I'm just using my day job knowledge. Someone must have a solid answer out there is Google doesn't.
