    We are a start up microbrewery in Cork in Ireland. We intend to start production in September this year. It is a very exciting time here in Ireland as craft brewing is slowly taking off in Ireland and we are sure will explode in popularity in the next 3 to 4 years. The position would suit an energetic person who is looking for a challenge and obviously willing to relocate to Ireland. This position might someone with relevant brewery experience but not a Head Brewer at the moment who wants to step up to the challenge of being Head Brewer.

    Brewmaster Job Description

    Our company is looking for an ambitious brewer who can come in and run the operations side of the brewery. The Brewmaster will be responsible for the entire beer making process, which includes selecting the ingredients, creating the recipe, mixing the materials, overseeing the fermentation process, and the production process. Our Brewmaster will personally brew and ferment the beer, clean the tanks and play a large role in analyzing future product offerings. The brewmaster will be given the tools and autonomy to create, therefore it is critical that candidates be extremely creative. This position will require great vision and passion for quality beer. Technical expertise solving brewing equipment malfunctions and building setup are a major plus. Experience of more than 2 years in a commercial brewing environment is strongly suggested.


    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

    Specific duties include:
    Proper storage and handling of all bulk and bagged malts, hops and salts
    Accurate measurement of malt and hop types and quantities for each batch
    Keeping brew house production on proper timing to avoid delays
    Monitoring of all wort production processes to maintain highest quality wort stream
    Complete and detailed documentation of each batch using approved forms
    Checking of gravities and cell counts in fermenter after wort additions
    CIP procedures for all brew house equipment, cleaning all brew house work areas on regular basis
    Assisting in raw material inventories as required.
    Follow proper purchasing procedures.

    Position Requirements:
    2-4 years brewing industry experience
    Bachelor's degree or coursework in a science discipline or engineering is desirable
    A General Certificate or Diploma in Brewing from a recognized institution
    Strong time management skills
    Attention to detail is critical
    Good basic computer skills

    Pick up and pour 44 pound boxes of hops
    Lifting up to 55 pounds of malt into mill
    Driving a forklift
    Working in confined spaces
    Periodic weekend duty
