Northwest Brewing Company in Pacific, WA is a fast paced production brewery that is in need of an assistant brewer. We operate on a 15bbl brew system and are seeking someone who is energetic and knowledgeable that can put their boots on and hit the ground running. The qualified candidate will have the following criteria:
Job Duties:
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Physically fit enough to run equipment and move kegs/packaged beer
• Ability to multi-task and handle production schedule changes on the fly
• Strong understanding and ability to process brewing calculations
• Ability to handle all aspects of production including but not limited to wort production, vessel CIPs, brewhouse CIPs, brewery operations (gravity, pH, dry hopping, etc.) and handling of raw materials
• Ability to perform maintenance and repair on equipment
• Proper record keeping of brewing and racking beer a must
• Minimum 1 year professional brewing experience
• Professional references required
• Samples of beer brewed by candidate will be required
• Ability to withstand being frequently exposed to strong and sometimes disagreeable odors and handle concentrated cleaning and sanitizing chemicals
• Ability to work and concentrate in a loud and noisy environment
• Ability to work standing for as much as 8+ hours per day
• Knowledge of or ability to learn operations of a forklift
We want someone who not only knows how to brew, but can also problem solve brewing procedures and help make the brewery more efficient. We need someone with a positive attitude with great flexibility in their work schedule as the shifts can change not only from week to week but day to day. Weekends and overtime may be required.
