1) Head Cidermaker
We are looking for an experienced winemaker/brewer/cidermaker to head the production side of our operation in Austin, Texas. We are looking for a talented professional to help us transition into our own cellar located on the east side of Austin. We are rapidly expanding our production capacity and scope of our products and are looking for a dynamic individual to put their stamp on the burgeoning US cider market.
The position's responsibilities include all cider making, quality and operational activities. The cider maker will work closely with our sales and marketing staff to support our ciders in the market through tasting events, etc.
This is an excellent opportunity to get in on the ground floor with a small growing company and work on establishing a new production facility in the heart of vibrant East Austin. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be mentored by a master cidermaker from the UK with a lifetime of experience in traditional craft cidermaking.
BACKGROUND/ EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor of Science in Viticulture and Enology or related field
Must have 2+ years plus of wine or beer production management experience
Excellent lab skills and knowledge of how to put together a quality control system

2) Assistant Cidermaker
We are looking for an experienced assistant winemaker or assistant brewer who is keen to transition over to cider. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, a self starter, and have a real passion for craft cider.
Under the head cidermaker’s direction, the position will coordinate the fermentation, blending and packaging of our cider.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES (but not limited to):

* Create daily work orders and lists to fulfill government documentation requirements.
* Oversee daily cellar operation to meet production requirements and schedules.
* Ability to perform basic lab tests.
* Supervise daily cellar operations and be responsible for work orders along with inventory control systems.
* Assist with overseeing the quality control of the lab & cellar functions.
* Development of ongoing cider making procedures and helping to develop and implement new practices.
* Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
BACKGROUND/ EXPERIENCE:

Encourage a BS or Grad Dip in Enology or related field
Must have 2+ years plus of "hands-on" wine, beer, or cider production experience.
Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
Experience in winery/brewery cellar supervision
Forklift proficient
Able to lift 50 pounds

Austin Eastciders is looking to hire a Cellar Hand to assist in the production of cider. Duties include fermentation monitoring, packaging, running cidery equipment, lab work, heavy lifting etc. The ideal candidate should possess a desire to learn about cidermaking, a keen attention to detail, and the willingness to get dirty.
Base Skills:
Able to lift at least 50lbs
Enjoyment of physical labor
Good working attitude and desire to learn
Good attention to detail
Must have transportation to worksite
Preferred Skills:
Previous vintage winery experience or cellar/brewhouse work
College degree or food science background
Knowledge of brewery/winery equipment
Familiarity with pumps
Basic lab skills
Ability to drive a forklift
Pay:
Commensurate with experience
