Benchmark Brewing Company seeks a competent assistant brewer to work directly under our Master Brewer. This is a full time position with opportunity for growth. The ideal candidate will have experience in a packaging brewery or some education in the field of brewing.
Primary Requirements:
-Operate a 10bbl brewhouse, and its components in our production facility.
-Recipe execution, large and small.
-Manage and propagate yeast, and ability to count cells.
-Quality control and assurance.
-Cleaning of all brewery components including use of CIP and keg washer.
-Packaging duties to include kegging, cask filling, bottling and canning.
-Raw material handling.
-Degree in brewing or a related field is a plus.
-1-3 years professional brewing experience in a packaging brewery.
-Valid CA drivers license.
Other responsibilities & requirements:
-Great communication skills and ability to work well with others.
-Lift 55 lbs and move 165 lbs efficiently and effectively.
-Computer competent.
-Operate a forklift and other complex machinery.
-Helping out in the tasting room.
-Giving guided tours.
-Local deliveries.
-Positively represent and promote the brewery at events around town.
-Demonstrate a willingness to fill in with odd jobs as needed.
