    Great Raft Brewing is seeking an assistant brewer to join our team. First things first – we brew clean lager in North Louisiana. It’s hot as hell, we don’t cut corners and always put quality first. Two of our three flagships are lagers, but we also brew innovative ales. We’re looking for someone with the discipline and skill to brew lager, but the creativity to brew inspired ales. Innovation is great, but quality comes first.

    Requirements:
    • Must be 21 years of age or older
    • Have a passion for great beer
    • Agree to and follow the policy of no Santana, Jimmy Buffet or Rush played on brewery premises
    • Understand brewing, cellaring, filtration, and packaging processes
    • Passionate about quality and cleanliness
    • Follow established SOPs with accuracy
    • Refuse to brew anything with pumpkin
    • Understand the complexity of flavor vs the intensity of flavor
    • Understand that hombrewers are people too, and from time to time will engage you in conversation
    • Be vocal about continuous improvement
    • Highly motivated and positive attitude
    • Strong organization skills and attention to detail
    • Work well independently, as well as part of a team
    • Be an advocate for safety
    • A strong work ethic and ability to multitask
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
    • A high mechanical aptitude
    • Strong communication skills
    • Flexible and willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done right (Shift work, evening shifts, weekends and overtime)
    • Properly complete production documentation
    • Climb, stand, walk, crouch, and lift regularly throughout duration of shift, including continual dragging, carrying, and manipulation of hoses, pumps, parts, buckets, carts, tools. It’s a production brewery, you know the drill
    • Be able to lift 75 lbs, move 165 lbs
    • Frequently reach with hands and arms
    • Safely operate forklift and pallet jack
    • Mix and use chemicals safely

    The assistant brewer will be involved in all brewery operations from grain to glass. This full-time position will consist of performing any and all tasks related to the brewery, including but not limited to the following duties and responsibilities:

    • Receiving/Shipping
    • Raw materials handling
    • Production of wort
    • Filtration
    • Transferring of beer
    • All aspects of cellar operations
    • Keg cleaning
    • Packaging of both kegs and cans
    • Maintaining organization and inventory
    • Maintain cleaning schedules and procedures
    • Troubleshooting and reporting of equipment issues
    • CIP of tanks and general brewery cleanliness
