About the Job
In this job you will be responsible for a variety of accounting tasks for a fast growing Company. Reporting to the Controller you will be one of a two-person Accounting Department responsible for A/P, A/R, journal entries, light tax preparation and processing, filing, bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, month end close process and procedure adherence, manufacturing kpi metrics generation and analysis, and generation of Financial Statements. You will also be accountable for challenging stereotypes about finance and accounting people. We can be fun and lovable too!
Responsibilities
• Processing vendor invoices for payment.
• Processing cash receipts including preparing bank deposits.
• Preparing journal entries and financial statements.
• Monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures.
• Cash flow generation and updates.
• Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
• Trial balance and work-paper preparation.
• Reconciling bank statements and Balance Sheet account reconciliation.
• Creating and maintaining files of A/P, A/R, and other accounting documents.
• Communicating with our payroll company and light payroll duties.
• Preparation and processing of 1099 forms.
• Month End Close Process and Procedure creation and adherence
• Maintain petty cash and bank deposits.
• Reconcile Quickbooks with POS Lavu daily.
• Establish and implement internal control systems.
Our Ideal Candidate
• Two years operational accounting experience. Experience within craft beer and/or manufacturing preferred. Beer-haters need not apply.
• Bachelor of Science in Accounting.
• Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including GAAP, as well as federal and state financial regulations, and regulations we don’t even know about yet.
• Knowledge of QuickBooks and POS Lavu preferred.
• Willing to dress in costume, perform circus tricks or otherwise entertain us at your own expense.
• High level of integrity, intelligence, intuition and good business instincts.
• Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills and intense attention to detail.
• Ability to work cross functionally with a cast of unique characters.
