Job Title: QA / QC Lab Technician
Position Type: Full time, Hourly

Position Summary: The QA / QC Lab Technician is responsible for the analytical and microbiological monitoring of the entire beer production process from wort production to packaging. Daily tasks include sample preparation, analytical testing, recording and reporting results, and media preparation.
Responsibilities:
• Obtain and analyze samples from various points in the production process.
• Conduct aseptic and environmental sampling throughout the brewery.
• Preparation of microbiological media, sterile plating, and microscopic analysis for microbial growth.
• Ensure laboratory is well stocked and resourced.
• Maintain and operate standard laboratory equipment.
• Update and improve standard operating procedures.
• Document information in record books and databases.
• Basic laboratory housekeeping.
• Follows organizational standards for safety policies & best practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will possess:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a focus in a science field.
• Experience as a Laboratory Technician and/or beer analysis experience.
• Knowledge of brewing biochemistry, microbiology, and molecular biology.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• Excellent Planning/Organizing skills - the individual prioritizes and plans work activities and uses time efficiently.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, experience with SAP is a plus.
• Dependability - the individual is consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, and responds to management direction.
• Prior Industry experience.
• A passion for craft beer.
