Hey all, just wondering if anyone out there uses iodophor with a septic system. If so, are there any issues? I've read many things on the subject, but have not been able to find anything concrete. This is all new to me as I've never had to deal with septic before. Any help or input would be most appreciated! Thanks.

Septic System Considerations
Likely more than 96% of Septic systems are mismanaged and many may be borderline including developing drainfield problems.
If you have a Kitchen connected, double trouble.
They have to be pumped out and they need bio treatments.
The net assay of whats going down the line with respect to Brewery operations can possibly be very antagonistic to correct Bio activity.
The solids entering the tank can go through the roof so to speak.
Existing systems are likely undersized and misconfigured for this type of waste stream.
When things go wrong with a septic dependent facility, Operation is stopped cold and often times the solutions are MAJOR and time consuming.
As an example I had charge of a property with multiple neglected septic systems, one of which was a grey water only system [thankfully] that had to be totally replaced and upsized by about 4 times the original.
If I had to run a brewery on septic, I 'd speak to a wastwater chemist on the matter and then start re-plumbing everything with the Brewery on a total separate system that was about 4 times larger that what I thought was needed after the bio activity potential was determined or not. If the waste stream is not bio active the total system design is different.Warren Turner
