Look at Wyeast 1272. I think it ferments fairly clean in the low 60's and has a slight estery profile when fermented around 70. It's pretty good for "one yeast fits all".
Cheers,
Scott
Looking for recommendations for a single yeast that can do both sides of the ale/lager spectrum. A quick peek at Wyeast showed 2112 CA Lager and 2124 Bohemian Lager (can be used for pseudo-ales), and their blends 1087 ale and 2178 Lager. Looking for a workhorse that can do it all and is an easy-keeper. No nags. Local Italian distribution a plus...

It's been a few years, but I got great results with Wyeast 1007, which is an alt style German ale yeast. My favorite yeast of all time!
Cheers, Tim
I had decent results with WLP029 Kolsch. Got it to ferment a cream ale at 55F
