Short’s Mart — our very own “brewtique” located two doors down from our Pub in Bellaire, Michigan — now has an opening for a full-time Merchandise Manager. Short’s Mart offers unique product offerings, embracing classic American craftsmanship, timeless vintage design, and an appreciation for sustainability to create an experience not bound by trends or specific product categories.
The candidates being considered will not only have the retail experience we are looking for, but will also share our excitement and enthusiasm for taking the Short’s Mart brand to the next level. The Merchandise Manager will be responsible for planning and directing the day-to-day operations of Short’s Mart. Applicants MUST have a passion for the great outdoors, craft beer, fashion, and art, as well as retail. Responsibilities will include managing (including hiring) the retail staff, developing strategies to drive store sales and increase profitability, ensuring customer needs are met, resolving customer complaints, and ensuring that service is quick and efficient. The Merchandise Manager will ensure that all products and displays are merchandised effectively. He or she will also forecast staffing needs as well as retail trends to provide support to all Short’s Mart retail channels and Short’s Brewing Company promotional merchandise. This position is primarily based out of Bellaire, Michigan, but occasional travel to statewide events may be required.
The Merchandise Manager is a full-time, salaried position. A minimum of 5+ years experience in merchandising, retail, and buying is required. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
