Brewer Needed for Los Angeles Area Brewery

San Fernando Brewing Company is a family owned 15 BBL production brewery with a tap room, located in the San Fernando Valley. We recently celebrated our grand opening and are looking for an enthusiastic, capable, smart, and experienced co-head brewer to team up with our current brewer and consistently make outstanding beers while expanding our selection and our brewery. The San Fernando Valley is home to nearly 2 million residents and is undergoing a craft beer revolution. We are one of the first breweries to open in the area and are looking for someone who is ready to be part of this historic event.
We are looking for someone to work 3-4 days a week in unison with our other brewer to maintain all operations in the brewery. As a new brewery, the shared responsibilities for the brewer will be broad, but mainly focused on brewing and maintaining the brewery.
Key Responsibilities:
• Brewing process steps from milling malt to filling the fermenters to dry hopping
• Packaging beer in kegs or bottles
• Tracking fermentation
• Quality assurance
• Lab work
• Preparing loads for shipment
• Receiving shipments of materials
• Cellar management
• Record keeping
• Cleaning (kegs, tanks, floors, walls, and anything else that needs it)
• Recipe formulation and design
• Yeast Harvesting and Repitching
Qualifications
• 21 or older
• Self-motivated and proactive
• Adaptable and able to efficiently manage time and tasks
• Minimum 2+ years previous brewing experience in a production brewery
• Brewing School and/or professional brewery training a plus
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills
• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
