  • Vent stack Leaking

Hey guys. Our vent stack for our kettle was assembled out of typical B-vent but where it comes off the top of the kettle they used a adjustable 90. When a run my CIP it leaks out of the seams in the 90 and the join areas. Im tired of the chemicals staining the top of the kettle. I tried a RTV rated for Furnaces but it doesn't hold up. Im thinking we need to have something fabricated for this but Id like to hear your experiences.
    Thanks

    Maybe, this http://www.sscoatings.net/brewcoat-info.htm

Not sure about temperature stability, but worth a contact call to them but over $200....

      Kettle Vent Options

B vent is double wall galvanized....
Are you sure you want that on your kettle?
Even so if you went with single wall SS you will still have the tendency to leak on your adjustable fitting, so I'd say the hard cast coating choice given above is a good option, which could be done somewhat cleanly by masking above and below the seal line.
There are former threads from a supplier of single wall SS fittings on the forum which are good quality.
The most elegant choice would seem to be welded seam SS runs with some kind of mechanical decoupling collar if needed for cleaning.
