    CELLAR & PRODUCTION PERSON - BANTAM CIDER COMPANY, SOMERVILLE, MA

    JOB SUMMARY:
    The Cellar and Production Crew Member will be a part of the production team contributing to all operations involved with the fermenting, finishing and packaging of hard cider.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Yeast handling and inoculations, fermentation additions, volume transfers, daily testing and reporting
    • Performing filtrations (cross-flow through sterile), post fermentation additions, bright tank operation and monitoring CO2 levels
    • Keg cleaning and filling, and working on the canning line
    • Operating under company sanitation protocols and working to maintain optimum sanitary conditions throughout production environment, including work processes with all filters, pumps and hoses, tanks, barrels, totes and kegs
    • Working with Head Cider Maker on new product development and testing
    • Coordinating in-bound and out-bound shipments of raw materials and finished products
    • Other tasks as required to support production and distribution

    REQUIREMENTS:
    Candidate must have:
    • At least two years of relevant experience at a production brewery
    • A positive attitude and work well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
    • A valid Massachusetts driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record

    Candidate must be willing and able to:
    • Work in a physically demanding environment, lift and maneuver 15.5 gallon kegs & 50 gallon drums, climb and work on ladders, etc.
    • Operate a forklift, pallet jacks and hand trucks
    • Work between 35 – 50 hours per week, including occasional off-hour shifts and weekend work
