Tin Roof Brewing Company is a packaging brewery located in the heart of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, close to the LSU campus. We operate using a 30BBL Premier Stainless brewhouse, a combination of 16 (with 4 more on the way) 30BBL and 60BBL FVs and brites, and a Cask ACS 30-CPM 5-fillhead canning line. We have designed for expansion capacity to double our fermentation and cold space footprint, add a state-of-the-art bottling line, and expand our grain handling. We are also implementing inventory management software tied to our financials to ensure sustainable operational growth and ongoing budgeting capabilities.

Here’s who we’re currently seeking (3 total positions; this is 1 of 3):
BREWER
Responsibilities include recipe development, raw ingredient management/measurement per recipe,
creation of brewhouse SOPs, wort production, inputting and maintaining recipes and production entries
into Ekos Brewmaster, yeast pitching/management and harvesting, assisting Brewmaster with helping to
run quality assurance and quality control procedures, assisting cellar with fermentation management,
cellar work including transferring and filtration in the absence of all cellarpeople, brewhouse cleaning
and general cleanliness.
With an unwavering passion for craft beer and a “’til the job is done” work ethic, the head brewer will
demonstrate servant leadership while coordinating the brewing team and materials to produce top
quality, consistent beer. The head brewer will teach, train, and grow the brewing team to be well-
rounded, top brewers in the industry and to become brewery ambassadors for on- and off-site Tin Roof
Brewing Company events. This position involves all aspects of a working production facility, including
wort production, fermentation, filtration/transfers, yeast management, cleaning, laboratory work,
quality assurance, and production of meticulous reports including federal & state excise reports. Other
duties include participating in continuing education training, attending special events, attending
conferences and seminars, teaching staff and educating / engaging with the public, managing and
adhering to OSHA and Tin Roof safety requirements and participating in monthly safety meetings,
preventive maintenance on equipment, and management of inventory, as well as communicating effectively with all other co-workers regarding the status of the process flow and consistency.
General Requirements & Qualifications:
• Well-rounded management experience; will exhibit excellent leadership skills with the proven ability
to lead and motivate a team. Train all brewers in the brewhouse.
• A passion for quality craft beer
• A minimum of three years serving in a management role at a brewery producing more than 5,000 bbls
annually.
• A strong work ethic with the ability to multi-task, adapt to changing situations, prioritize, and manage
time while being detail-oriented.
• A working knowledge of industry compliance standards, including but not limited to OSHA and safety
standards, TTB, FDA, and Louisiana ALE laws.
• Mechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting skills.
• Inputting POs for all raw materials (grain, hops, yeast, brewing chemicals/supplies used in production)
into Ekos Brewmaster. Receiving inventory into Ekos in the absence of assistant brewers and cellarpeople.
Technical Requirements:
• A formal brewing education (e.g. IBD or Siebel Institute) or professional brewing experience is
considered above all else. BA / BS in Chemistry or Biology, Fermentation Science, Business,
Management, or Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical) with relevant brewery experience is a plus.
• Cicerone certification a plus
• Past brewery installation experience is a plus
• Microsoft Office Skills, particularly Excel spreadsheets. Ekos Brewmaster experience a plus.
