CELLARPERSON FOR BARLEY FORGE BREWING (Orange County, CA)
Barley Forge Brewing Company (www.barleyforge.com) is a growing craft brewery, which opened in the fall of 2014 in Costa Mesa, California. Local publication OC Weekly named us the Best Brewery in Orange County for 2015. We are currently doubling our capacity to more than 8000 bbl annually, and we have just finished upgrading our bottling line.
Barley Forge is looking for a Cellarman to join our brewery staff. The perfect new team member will have production/manufacturing experience, ability to drive a forklift, and a “get it done” attitude.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Cellarman will be responsible for performing essential beer production operations and duties, in accordance with brewery S.O.P’s while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
The Cellarman’s duties include, but are not limited to:
• Cleaning and sanitizing tanks & cellar equipment.
• Performing transfers through a filter.
• Kegging and bottling beer
• Performing weekly material inventories.
• Maintaining a clean workplace while safety upholding quality standards.
• Maintaining accurate and legible written and electronic records.
• Understanding uses of all chemicals and following OSHA standards.
• Performing other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Commitment to excellence and high standards.
• Strong knowledge of brewing process.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
• Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
• Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
• Ability to understand any and all safety requirements and cautions.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain a must.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS:
• A passion for craft beer
• The willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, overnights and weekends as scheduled
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, the employee is frequently required to do the following:
• Safely, lift, move and carry up to and above 75 pounds.
• Use ladders and scaffolds and work at heights.
• Stand for long periods of time.
• Walk, kneel, bend, stand, and climb stairs.
• Utilize visual acuity to operate equipment and read technical information.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This is a fast-paced environment and the noise level is usually moderate to high.
Works in warehouse where temperatures are extreme for long periods of time. Work environment can be cold, hot, wet and noisy.
COMPENSATION
This is an hourly position with pay based on experience. Relocation assistance is not provided for this position.
