  • Coating New Brewery Floor - Ashford Formula

    Hey everyone,
So I'm looking at coating our concrete floors and while I believe I'm going to go with 1/4inch Flowcrete... I've also looked into the Ashford Formula which is substanitally cheaper (about $5/square foot less). So my question is has anyone ever used this before in their production area? If you don't know what the Ashford Formula is I've attached a couple links below. I have been in contact with a representative from the company, and I've expalined to him all the traffic, chemicals, hot water, fork lifts, etc... that it will have to go through and he says it should handle it no problem... That being said he is reping his company so he's biased. However, he is not the person I'm purchasing the coating from or installing it, so he doesn't directly benefit from trying to "sell" me on it.

I'm still planning on using flowcrete but it would be nice if I could supplement this for part of the total 7,000 square feet I have to treat.

Let me know what, yall think.

    Cheers,

I'm not sure about the formula. From their material data sheet it has "moderate" reactivity to both nitric acid and caustic. I didn't see anything on the sheet saying what moderate reactivity means. But I'd ask some major questions.
That being said if you can minimize chemical exposure to the floor you may well be alright.
