Full Time – Assistant Brewer – Carrollton, GA
The Assistant Brewer is an entry-level position that will be predominately assisting with the production side of the brewery, however at times will not be limited to only production. We are looking for a hard-working, passionate individual for this position. As a new brewery about to begin production in West Georgia, you will be in a unique position to grow and learn with the brewery from day one of operations. You will gain experience in all production areas while assisting the Head Brewer. While some prior experience in a production brewery or brewpub is preferred, this position may also be ideal for an enthusiastic homebrewer with a strong work ethic looking to make the jump to commercial production. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and capable of working well both independently and with a small team. Punctuality and reliability are extremely important, as is a commitment to maintaining a sanitary brewing environment.
Responsibilities:
Assist Head Brewer with all aspects of the brewery operation, to include:
Keg cleaning
Transfer of beer
Dry hopping and fining beer
Carbonation of beer
Kegging
CIP of tanks
Milling in
Graining out
Inventory
General Cleaning
Shipping and receiving
Yeast management
QA/QC
Participate in sensory panel (Sampling, Tasting)
Assist with brewery special events as needed
Any other duties assigned
Additional Responsibilities:
Marketing (beer festivals, beer dinners, etc…)
Giving Tours and speaking to visitors
Assist as needed in the tasting room
Working in the Hop Yard (planting, harvesting, etc…)
Expanding Personal Beer Knowledge
Minimum qualifications:
Must be at least 21
Education: High School or equivalent
Valid Driver’s License
Reliable transportation & clean driving record
Capable of lifting 55 lbs to shoulder height repeatedly
Able to work in hot, cold, and wet environments
Basic but competent computer skills
Strict attention to detail
Passion for craft beer
Honest & Hard Working
Passion to learn and grow as a brewer
Good Communication Skills (including but not limited to: verbal, texting, email, phone, & any other communication application)
Preferred:
Homebrew experience
Forklift experience
Advanced degree in biology, chemistry, engineering, brewing, or food science
Excellent computer skills
Prior commercial brewing experience
