  • 15Kw Element Sourcing

What are some sources for 15kw elements for my soon-to-be-ordered 10bbl HLT? It has 4 2" TC element ports. Googling provides lots of shady overseas sources. Any advice?

    Thank you!

I'd start with McMaster or Grainger.

Beer is like porn. You can buy it, but it's more fun to make your own.

Thanks, but those only seem to have up to about 6000w.

Shop float switches, temperature probes, tubing, flow meters, and replacement parts

I have bought six of the 15kw from Brewmation. Great product and great service.

It's going to be much easier for you to source elements on 2" NPT fittings. We get ours from Glacier.

            Watlow heaters

Personally I like Watlow heaters. Many options available, easy to replace and fully UL and CSA approved.

The approval is very important if you want to pass your electrical inspection.

We use a Watlow 15kw. As mentioned above, it's a 2" NPT thread.

A reminder to turn it off when actively brewing, or rig a float valve killswitch or something, so that if the liquid level goes below it you don't end up melting it...

Check out Wattco.com in Montreal QC. Awesome elements and you can add a thermocoupler to prevent the element from melting if it runs dry.
                Cheers!
