Job Description | The Packaging Manager is a key member of the Sagamore Spirit operations team. The Packaging Manager is responsible for leading the Sagamore Spirit packaging team to produce the highest quality, consistent finished goods, in a safe and efficient manner.
Core Responsibilities | Include but are not limited to the following:
• Responsible for scheduling production, packaging teammates and leading packaging shifts to meet the production requirements of operations management
• Responsible for the approval and release of packaging materials from vendors
• Responsible for training and retention of packaging teammates consistent with the standards, values and culture of Sagamore Spirit
• Responsible for providing performance feedback and/or corrective action to packaging teammates
• Ensures quality control procedures are followed through every stage of the packaging process
• Ensures the quality of packaging materials meets Sagamore Spirit standards
• Responsible for the accurate collection and entry of production and quality information into operations software
• Responsible for continuous improvement of packaging operations, including safety, quality, and efficiency
• Responsible for the proper operation and maintenance of all packaging equipment
• Ensures that all safety processes and procedures are followed by the packaging team at all times
• Ensures a professional and welcoming work environment consistent with the hospitality goals of Sagamore Spirit
Education, Experience, & Qualifications
• 5 years’ experience in a liquid fill, labeling, package manufacturing environment, preferably alcoholic beverage
• 3 years’ management experience leading a team of 10+ equipment operators
• Entrepreneurial spirit and work ethic combined with a pragmatically optimistic can-do attitude
• Takes pride in producing a high quality product and the endless pursuit of continuous improvement
• Strong analytical skills and a high attention to detail
• Effective communicator
• BA/BS Degree
• Must be 21 years of age
