  • HISTORIC BREWERY TOUR GUIDE | Part-Time, On-Call Position | Portland, Oregon

Are you a beer nerd who likes to talk tasting notes? Are you a natural performer who can tell a good story and captivate an audience? Can you command a crowd and provide outstanding guest experience? Are you interested in a fun and energizing side gig?
If so, we can’t wait to meet you!

    THE ROLE
Historic Brewery Tour Guide | Part-Time, On-Call Position

We are looking for individuals able to work primarily weekends from 1:30PM - 5:30PM. Position requires availability on weekends including holidays.

    OUR QUEST
No matter the quest, BeerQuest Walking Tours aims to provide the most exciting entertainment while exploring Portland's best bars and breweries on foot. Whether a guest is on vacation and wants to find something fun to do in Portland, or is a local looking for a new view of the city, we lead the way in tasting a vibrant, award-winning beer culture and uncover a mysterious past through riveting storytelling.

We are seeking a fun and dynamic personality to lead our brewery tour with our small and growing walking tour company. If you read further and feel you’d be a great fit for our team, then please introduce yourself!

A SUCCESSFUL BEERQUEST TOUR GUIDE IS...

A Beer Guru. Beer is a tasting note on all our tours. Our tour guides are well versed in the many different styles of beer that the Pacific Northwest has to offer. We are tasting pros in sharing award-winning craft beer.

A Spirited Entertainer. We make them laugh, we put their nerves on edge, and we create those “Aha!” moments. There is never a dull pause. Our guests may not always remember the facts we share with them, but they definitely remember our tour guides. We are true performers with an outgoing, warm personality and a booming, loud voice.

A Time Traveler. Portland, Oregon has a very lively and charismatic past. One that will shock both visitors and locals. But it’s more than just a history lesson. It’s about bringing these stories and characters to life. Our tour guides have a real passion for history. We are experts on historical facts and are able to bring the past to the present.

A Steady Observer. The name of every guest. Every chair available at the table. Every turn on the walking route. Every glass ready for a beer pour. Every little detail. And it doesn't just matter some of the time. It matters all of the time. Our tour guides are aware of every moment. We are the ultimate host or hostess at the party.

A Harmonious Pilot. Relax, nothing is truly under control. But our tour guides sure do make it look like it is! There can be unexpected moments on a tour. Our guides remain calm and collected no matter the situation. We are true leaders in coordinating large groups, and are multitasking masters in a highly dynamic and always changing environment.

A Constant Learner. It means always asking, "Am I providing a guest experience that is the absolute best it can be?" Our tour guides are continuously educating themselves and re-establishing the standards for delivering authentic, enriching—and sometimes profoundly memorable—walking excursions. We don’t just deliver a walking tour, we deliver the highlight of a vacation or time off.

A Team Player. Beer, ghosts, and history aside, it’s really about bringing people together. Our tours are like summer camp for adults. It’s hard work, and our tour guides do it out of passion. Above anything else, it’s about giving each guest the best possible experience. We don’t do it for the money or the tips (although both are great perks), we do it because we love it.

If this sounds like the type of team you’d like to join, then please read on and fill out the application below. We offer onboard training and continuous professional development opportunities.
