  • Clumpy head?

Has anyone had experience with the head on their beer clumping up? It's like a meringue or something. I've looked back on notes and can't see anything different from previous batches with the same recipe. Taste is the same, just a rather unappealing type of head. Any ideas?

Sounds to me like your beer glass is not beer-clean. The tiniest bit of crud on the inside of a glass becomes an enucleation point for foam formation, causing a lumpy head, just as you've described.

Try hand-washing your glass and polish the inside with a clean, dry towel. I'll bet you get a nice, smooth head.
