    DC Brau Brewing Company in Washington, DC, seeks a committed and charismatic Business Development Manager to lead our Marketing and Sales Team.

    We are looking for a committed and visionary leader who can take our marketing and sales team to the next level! We are looking to bring on a professional with experience managing both programming and people in a dynamic and diverse work setting.     The Business Development Manager will be responsible for the strategic promotion of the DC Brau portfolio of brands and the promotion and sales accounts in all territories. This professional is expected to work closely with DC Brau’s distributors, Marketing and Sales Team, and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to grow sales volume, open new accounts, and maintain existing accounts while developing new relationships throughout our distribution networks. The Business Development Manager will also be responsible for developing and inspiring our current sales team through ongoing coaching, team building, and thought leadership.

    Our ideal Business Development Manager has a passion for craft beer, superior distributor relations, and experience developing and leading a successful sales team. We are looking for applicants with multiple years of experience in brand representation (preferably with craft beer), program development, leadership experience, accounts management, and sales. This is NOT an entry-level position. It is an excellent opportunity for someone to use their developed skillset to maximize the momentum of our growing brand and take DC Brau to the next level!

    Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    • Increasing overall market share and same-store sales of our beers.
    • Collaborating with CEO to develop pricing structures and strategies, work with forecasting models, and develop and implement long-term business plans.
    • Developing and maintaining expert beer knowledge and understanding of the DC Brau product portfolio, product availability, and sale techniques.
    • Managing individual time and activities to maximize sales volume.
    • Maintaining familiarity with liquor laws and licensing practices for all distribution areas.
    • Meeting or exceeding established sales benchmarks.
    • Accurately reporting activities and accounting records to CEO and Accounts Management Team and acts as the liaison for the CEO and Executive Team to the Sales and Events teams.
    • Providing leadership and ongoing oversight of the DC Brau Sales and Events teams.
    • Building and motivating a successful Marketing and Sales Team through coaching, training and other professional development modalities.
    • Planning and ensuring staffing for promotional and special events. This includes managing and facilitating all promotional, merchandise, staffing, and product needs.
    • In collaboration with DC Brau’s Publicist helps to promote brewery products, events, and account interactions through social media – Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and others – following the guidelines set forth by Marketing and Sales leadership.
    • Cultivating, developing, and maintaining relationships at the distributor partner level. Including but not limited to balancing distributor relations, developing sales plans, managing inventory, designing creative marketing programs to maximize sales, and manages paperwork for registering new products.
    • Aggressively pursuing new accounts and building relationships with existing accounts.
    • Conducting beer tasting and account staff education with larger key accounts.
    • Collaborates with CEO, Office Manager, and Growler Hours Shop Manager in tracking, managing, and maintaining DC Brau merchandise and promotional materials.

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications:
    • Beer sales experience at distributor or brewery level is a requirement.
    • Must be a natural leader and have experience and ability to build and motivate a strong sale force.
    • Experience leading teams and developing people through coaching, training, and other professional leadership development.
    • Strong problem solver – must be able to overcome obstacles to reach successful outcomes and must be able to teach and coach others to do the same.
    • Must have strong analytical skills and be able to understand and develop pricing structures and strategies, develop metrics for team accountability, work with forecasting models, and long term business plans.
    • Ability to become a Certified Level 1 Cicerone within 6-8 month period.
    • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills are a must.
    • Excellent persuasive selling and relationship building skills are a must.
    • Bachelor's Degree is required; Graduate degree or equivalent in business are preferred.
    • Job related professional courses in business, sales training, or beer related content preferred.
    • Must demonstrate a history and capacity for continued learning and professional development.
    • Service industry and hospitality experience preferred.
    • Mastery of basic computer programs such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
    • Must have experience working with industry specific sales and inventory software such as, but not limited to, VIP.
    • Must understand wholesale pricing structure and strategy.
    • Must understand and utilize industry specific sales metrics.
    • Must live in the DC Metropolitan area.
    • Must maintain a working knowledge of the determined territory.
    • Must maintain knowledge of the liquor laws and licensing practices of each state DC Brau distributes in, including the District of Columbia.
    • Must have a can-do attitude!

    Duties will require regular and ongoing car and air travel:
    • Hours will vary according to business need, and will include nights and weekends.
    • The successful candidate must have a valid driver's license, registered and insured vehicle, and ability to drive to and from accounts continuously.

    DC Brau is offering full-time (40+ hours/week), exempt, employment. After a period of time full-time employees are eligible for benefits that include health, vision and dental insurance, Simple IRA, long- and short- term disability insurance, group term life insurance, paid time off, and holidays. Total compensation depends on experience.
