Besides what we grow here in Michigan, we broker a good amount of hops.
Over the past year we have certainly seen a market correction and the availability of hops has increased for the most part.
There are still varieties that are in high demand and almost impossible to get or are still very expensive, Galaxy and Nelson Sauvin immediately come to mind.
I was just at the American Hop Growers Conference in Bend and the overall thought was that we need to slow down on expansion for most varieties, and in some cases, replace some slow moving varieties with something else.
There certainly seems to be a leveling out or a slowing down of demand in my opinion. I think the growers are finally catching up to demand and we are seeing adequate supplies on hand.
